(And surprisingly, none of that "wrong" is related to "the odds of a person surviving being that close to a nuclear explosion" or "a person surviving a trip that far through the air inside a refrigerator".)

I just spent about 45 minutes preparing a pretty elaborate defense of how Indiana Jones could’ve survived being nuked in the fridge but after watching the sequence a few times, there’s actually a lot confusing/wrong with it. (And surprisingly, none of that “wrong” is related to “the odds of a person surviving being that close to a nuclear explosion” or “a person surviving a trip that far through the air inside a refrigerator”.)

I mainly just think they could’ve still had the nuclear explosion idea and just had Indy in a Raiders-style car-fight with a bunch of Soviet dudes fleeing the area. Indy manages to kick every last one of them off the truck (leaving them to be vaporized) before reaching some sort of bunker or something.
