“Cliff Diving” by +44
I’m obviously pleased that blink-182 exists again but I really did dig on +44, too. This song in particular was one of my favorites. There wasn’t enough of this sort of upbeat rocking on Neighborhoods which, based on a recent Mark Hoppus comment, was something they didn’t really notice until after the album was completely finished. So hopefully, that turns around.
Note: I’m not sure whether the inclusion of the lyrics “silly girl” and “dear you” in this song were deliberate Descendents and Jawbreaker references respectively but I think they were.
(It bears noting that once, in some sort of half-sleeping haze, I convinced myself that the line “let’s seal it with a kiss” was actually “le silly willykins” and now I can’t hear anything but “le silly willykins” when I listen to this track. And no, I have no idea what “le silly willykins” would mean. Some sort of French pet name for your miniature dog?)

I love +44 to bits, but you may have ruined that line for me. I can’t stop giggling at it now.
