I watched “Air Force One” today for the first time in probably a decade.

Notes:

  • I thought Gary Oldman was actually Russian until I was about 13.
  • It seems like it would be far easier for Oldman and his crew to have just broken that Russian General out of Russian prison rather than trying to HIJACK THE MOST SECURE AIRCRAFT ON THE PLANET, hold the President hostage, and have the General legally released. I understand that breaking someone out of prison isn’t THAT easy (and that General was presumably in a fairly high-security facility) but they make several references to the fact that a lot of entities, including entire military installations, are loyal to the General (to wit: even after the terrorists on board are all deadsies and the General has been released and killed, a bunch of MiGs show up and decide to start trying to blow up Air Force One because the jets’ base is “loyal to” the General). So you have an entire military base (if not more than one), replete with a squadron of jet fighters, who love this General so much they’ll kill the President of the United States even though their dear General is now dead… but you don’t have enough expertise or manpower to just break a dude out of prison? Come on. Two guys broke out of Alcatraz with some raincoats, glue, and wood.
  • WHAT ABOUT MY FAMILY?
