“Roger Maris, 1961” // 18x24” acrylic on canvasI did this painting with my fingers. Literally. I spent several hours finger painting like a child or an ape. I reverted back to an archaic style for no real reason other than just to see if I could do it. As it turns out, I could. I chose Roger Maris mainly because he’s been a favorite of my dad’s since his childhood and the best baseball imagery usually comes from that era. Plus, nobody seems to talk about him anymore. Finger painting a picture of him seems like literally the least I could do. Anyway, starting September 9, this painting will be on display and for sale at The Artists Gallery in Virginia Beach, VA as part of their “Fresh Paint” exhibition.
