“Norfolk” // acrylic on 8x10” canvas
Another bit of commissioned geographic design. I’m not sure why these two colors were requested but they work surprisingly well together (part of me hopes they are a reference to this).

“The City of Norfolk” // 16x20” acrylic and ink on canvas
A friend of my sister saw a painting in a restaurant and wanted it. Unfortunately, it was not for sale nor were any sort of prints available. I offered to duplicate it for her. My effort is on top, a cell phone photo of the original is on the bottom. Replicating the handwriting was the most difficult part.
[Note: unless you’re awesome, please don’t ask me to duplicate something for you.]
Fake Celebrity of the Day: In a genius — and also horrifying — social experiment, not-famous Thomas Elliot donned a hoodie and some buddies for a Saturday outing at a Virginia mall. Before long, his entourage was being escorted by mall security and trailed by “fans,” and several stores even closed their doors for private shopping. The video “is just a taste of all the autographs, pictures, and people who wanted get close to all the commotion.”
First: of course this would happen in MacArthur Mall, in Norfolk. I would never expect anything less from Virginia.
Second: I had the exact idea to do this back in high school, even the idea to do it at MacArthur. I once briefly pulled it off outside a music venue after a New Found Glory concert (high school, yeah!), where a few friends convinced a group of strangers that I was actually in the band. Anyway. Kudos to this guy.
The entire “Seven Five Seven” series can now be yours! Go and buy them, chums!
(Prints and maybe buttons coming soon, also.)
“The Seven Five Seven” // 6x6” acrylic on canvas (set of seven)
A series of seven handmade typography designs, each immortalizing one of the cities in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This might be in a gallery soon and if not, it will be on Etsy.

I snapped this while driving to Norfolk. I don’t know why I did it and I fully expected it to turn out looking like a big bag of crap but the blur and the lights work together, somehow. Fun fact: I’ve never been to Elizabeth City. Even though it’s like one hour south of The ‘Peake and it’s mentioned prominently on several highway signs around here… I’ve never set foot in that city.
